Wenesday Con Wilma: IMATS 2017

Hola Mis Amores and welcome back to another Wednesday Con Wilma! (Sends Social media hugs and kisses to all of you!)

This week’s post I want to get in all things that is IMATS, as I attended for the first time ever and I have been waiting for forever and finally the universe made it so I could! We will get in what purchases I made, the setup of the event the prep work before hand, and what I think could be better for a more enjoyable experience!

So first thing’s first, if you are lost as to what  IMATS is.. I gotcha. IMATS is the International  Make Up Artist Trend Show, that yearly goes to key cities ( This year it Kicked off in Los Angles California, New Your ,New York, Sydney , Australia, Toronto, Canada, and Vancouver Canada). Its purpose is to run as a networking event as well as provide seminars and stock your kit from the various vendors that are in attendance. It runs for 3 days. The first day normally Friday is for Pro- Card members. Saturday seems to be the most hectic as many influencers are in attendance with various cosmetic  lines and do demonstrations, and Sunday is the last of the 3 day event. I was able to attend Sunday.

The Prep– Thanks to my friend and IMATS buddy she was super organized and printed out the layout of all the booths and vendors. From there I was able to pick through exactly what booths I wanted to go to. I went on the websites to see what products they had and made a list and budgeted for the full price (The lines do have discounts but do not disclose until the day of the event.)  Also key piece of info you must purchase a ticket for specific date of attendance.

The Set-up: I arrived to New York early waited in line and when finally let in  Not at 10 am sharp, which was a little annoying especially since on Sunday we are reduced an hour from the experienceIt was an overload of vendors.  It wasn’t as chaotic as I expected it to be as ushers were on their post to keep the flow of lines. Kudos to both Anastasia of Beverly Hills and Dose of Colors who had a great system in place; they gave you a pick list and once you were ready you were called up to make your purchases. You only had to wait in line if you wanted to swatch the product.  As well as Juvia’s Place Line was very efficient and BH  Cosmetics the flow was super easy.

What wasn’t so easy was Morphe. The Line was super long , after I had made certain purchase I couldn’t justify waiting in line that long for somewhat of a discount. I was really disappointed in Tarte and NYX, they ran out of various items mainly Tarte’s Shape tape. I feel that if you are going to be there for 3 days bring enough product to replenish for the time being or limit 2 per item for each purchase. The NYX stand looked like it wasn’t even re-stocked from the night before and I arrived to their booth by 10:40am, I refuse to believe so much damage was done in 40 minutes. And they had the best discount at 40 percent off, but barely brought anything because there wasn’t much available.

The Haul:  The Following were items I was able to get from the various Cosmetic lines in attendance.

Anastasi of Beverly Hills– I purchased the New Aurora Glow Kit, Number 22 Tapered Highlight Brush and the Foundation Stick in my Color Amber.

BH Cosmetics– Sculpt & Duo 2 Brush Set, Eye Essential 7pc. Brush Set, Clari Bybel Eyeshadow & Highlighter Palette (the old not the new release) and the Modern Neutrals eye shadow palette.

Tarte– Maneater Mascar & Tarteist in Exposed

Juvia’s Place– The Saharan Palette

Dose of Color– Knock on Wood Lipstick

Frends Beauty– 4 lashes ( Whispies & Demi Whispies) , Quick change Brush cleaner , and Beauty Blender bundle which includes 2 full sizes and 2 minis and complimentary solid soap.

What can be done better: The point of an annual event is to do better than the last time it was held. I think for all those who have registered and purchased ticket email registrants a “Pick list” for each line to let us know what is available and ensure efficiency.

Overall I enjoyed my experience, would I attend again.. Maybe I’ll make up my mind next year when the tickets are up for sale lol.

As for last week’s giveaway we are extending it to next Wednesday.. so hurry and enter. As always thank you for  spending some you’re your Wednesday Conmigo.
