Wednesday Con Wilma: Oily Skin Regimen

Cleansed Face

Hola Amores and welcome to Wednesday’s Con Wilma, where you can find informative Beauty Post and product reviews.   Look out for weekly post here and monthly giveaways!

This week’s post is all things skin care; how and when you should cleanse, mask, exfoliate, tone, and moisturize.

Before talking product it is important to know what skin type you are. Three common skin types are: Normal to Combination (tends to get a little shine but rarely). Oily (Constant blotting throughout the day to look dry), and Dry skin (skin is in need of dire moisture). Other factors play a part as well, for instance if you are Acne prone or have other dermatological issues… If severe please consult with your dermatologist and ask for a list of make-up and facial product friendly for you!

I have Oily skin so all the products I used are specific to my skin type. Below I will describe my skincare routine:

Cleanse: Biore’s Baking Soda Cleaner. I wash my face twice a day once in the morning and again at night.

Toner: Loreal’s Expertise Hydrafesh Toner, this is necessary after I clean my make up off to get the excess dirt off my face. I also wipe my make up off with Garnier’s Micellar water.

Mask & Exfoliate: I use make up every day and in doing so exfoliating and using masks are so needed. I do both about 2-3 times a week. I have been using Loreal’s PureClay Purify & Mattify mask (green) and the Exfoliating Treatment mask (red). They also have a charcoal infused one (Detox and Brighten Treatment) I have yet to use but cannot wait to do so.  You can use both at the same time, I normally use the Purify and Mattifying mask in my T- Zone area and my exfoliating Mask from my cheeks to my jaw line as that is where I am mostly prone to small blemishes.

Moisturizer: One of the common misconceptions for Oily skin users is that you do not need to moisturize. That is not true! Like stated earlier you simply have to be savvy in what products to use.  As for me I live for Pond’s Clarant B3 Dark Spot Correcting Cream for Oily Skin. Its lightweight formula gives my skin the nourishment it needs without feeling like I’m adding more oil to my skin.  I moisturize after I have cleansed and toned my skin about twice a day.
